MOSCOW (MRC) - Kaustik (Volgograd), subsidiary of Nikokhim group, is in process of restarting its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production following scheduled maintenance works, said company's sources to MRC.
As per representatives of the company, the producer began the process of resuming PVC production after scheduled turnaround on 6 June. Kaustik aims to begin shipping PVC to its customers by the end of this week. Its annual production capacity is 90,000 tonnes. As MRC informed earlier, Kaustik started turnaround on 16 May.
This is the first scheduled maintenance works by Russian PVC producers. Next turnaround will take place at RusVinyl in September. Bashkir Soda Company (BSC) has no plans to stop for scheduled maintenance works this year.
Kaustik (Volgograd) showed a slight decrease in production in April, with final suspension PVC (SPVC) output slightly more than 7,600 tonnes, compared with 7,900 tonnes in March. Total SPVC production at the plant exceeded 31,400 tonnes in January-April 2016, down 1% year on year.
