MOSCOW (MRC) -- Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Sinopec, has taken off-stream its monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant, as per Apic-online.
A Polymerupdate source in China informed that the plant was shut last week. It is expected to remain shut for around 8 days. The exact reason for the shutdown could not be confirmed.
Located in Wuhan, China, the plant has a production capacity of 280,000 mt/year.
As MRC wrote before, on 8 March 2016, Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical, another subsidiary of Sinopec, undertook an emergency shutdown at its low density polyethylene (LDPE) unit, owing to a technical glitch. It remained off-line for around 2 days. Located at Shanghai in China, the company operates two LDPE units with a production capacity of 100,000 mt/year each.
