MOSCOW (MRC) -- Zhejiang Wankai New Materials Co., Ltd is likely to shut a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant for amaintenance turnaround, reported Apic-online.
A Polymerupdate source in China informed that the plant is expected to be taken off-stream during thisweek. It is schedule to remain off-line for around 3 weeks.
Located at Haining in China, the PET plant has a production capacity of 450,000 mt/year.
Besides, Lotte Chemicals, another large petrochemical producer in Asia, shut down its PET plant in the South Korea for a maintenance turnaround in the first half of October. The plant is expected to remain under shutdown mode for a period of around two weeks. Located in Ulsan, South Korea, the plant has a production capacity of 450,000 mt/year.
We also remind that, as MRC wrote before, in the first decade of September 2015, Hengli Petrochemical restarted operations at a purified terephthalic acid (PTA - feedstock for PET prodcution) plant following a maintenance turnaround. The plant was shut on August 6, 2015. The company has resumed operations at the plant recently. Located in Dalian in China, the plant has a production capacity of 2.2 million mt/year.
