MOSCOW (MRC) -- Dow Chemical has awarded Fluor a contract for execution of a significant portion of its US Gulf Coast investments, reported Hydrocarbonprocessing with reference to the companies' announcement.
Fluor’s scope includes the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a propane dehydrogenation unit, an ethane cracker, and associated power, utilities and infrastructure facility upgrades to support each unit.
The facilities will be constructed in Dow's Oyster Creek facility in Freeport, Texas.
Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value into backlog in the first quarter of 2013.
As MRC informed previously, in the second half of 2012, Fluor was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) contract by Dow Chemical for its upcoming propylene project in Freeport, Texas. The project is underway with estimated mechanical completion by 2015.

MRC
