MOSCOW (MRC) -- German plastics processor Rochling Group is investing 35 million euros (USD38.7 million) as it boosts its presence in the pharmaceutical and medical packaging industry, said Plasticsnews.
It is expanding its Neuhaus am Rennweg, Germany plant, creating 70 jobs. The plant is part of its Rochling-HPT Hochwertige Pharmatechnik GmbH & Co. KG operations, created as part of its focus on the medical industry. Ludger Bartels, CEO of Rochling Group, said at a ground breaking event: "The expansion will enable Rochling-HPT to be a strategic partner for integrated packaging systems. HPT already enjoys great success supplying its customers with a broad range of bottles and containers. In future we will be able to offer complete systems from the bottle through the closure to the administration device."
The project will take place in four stages, the first beginning with the expansion of the existing production building which will create space for the products created by the new injection molding and assembly facility for closures, as well as space for administration devices in the clean room, states Rochling.
The existing extrusion blow molding line in the clean room will also be expanded. A new four-story office will be built in 2019 and the production of closures and administration devices will be expanded with the addition of several injection molding machines, automatic assembly systems and extrusion blow molding lines. A further increase in capacity and an expansion of the office building are planned by 2023, says Rochling.
Karl-Heinz Sladek, managing director of Rochling-HPT, said: "Our business volumes have grown constantly over the last few years. The planned investment will allow us to broaden business relations with our customers. That in turn will enable us to ensure the sustainable, long-term growth of the company in Neuhaus and create some 70 additional jobs."
Rochling says 30 additional jobs will have been created by the end of the first investment phase in mid-2018, with a further 40 jobs being created successively from 2019, giving Rochling-HPT a total workforce of around 350 in Neuhaus in 2023.
As MRC informed earlier, Rochling Group will expand its production facility in Koprivnice, the Czech Republic. The move will allow the firm to increase the factory’s output capacity and take on new workers. "Rochling Automotive Koprivnice intends to expand its plant.
Rochling makes various plastic components for car makers, including GM, Ford, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Skoda and Subaru. Based in Mannheim, Germany, the group has a global workforce of 8,000 employees in 21 countries worldwide, and annual revenues of about 1.4 billion euros (USD1.48 billion).
