MOSCOW (MRC) -- PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC), Thailand’s largest petrochemical producer, is in plans to brought on-stream its cracker following an unplanned outage, as per Apic-online.
A Polymerupdate source in Thailand informed that the company is likely to resume production at the cracker in mid-June 2016. The plant was shut in mid-May 2016 owing to a power outage.
Located at Map Ta Phut in Thailand, the cracker has a production capacity of 1 million mt/year.
As MRC reported before, PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) has established PTTGC America Corp. and PTTGC America LLC, both based in the US, to move forward plans for building a complex in Ohio to take advantage of low-cost ethane from shale gas.
PTT Global Chemical is a leading player in the petrochemical industry and owns several petrochemical facilities with a combined capacity of 8.45 million tonnes a year.
