MOSCOW (MRC) - SayanskKhimPlast, the second-largest producer of the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in Russia, on 15, September began to resume production following scheduled maintenance works, said the company's customers.
SayanskKhimPlast began PVC output after a prolonged maintenances. Company's customers said the producer is expected to resume commercial PVC output from 16, September. The company previously planned to finish turnaround on 9, September.
SayanskKhimPlast had to synchronise its output from the turnaround with the end of maintenance works at Angarsk Polymers Plant - supplier of key PVC feedstock - ethylene. Angarsk Polymers Plant postponed the date of scheduled maintenances works. Total PVC production at SayanskKhimPlast was 147,200 tonnes in the first eight months of this year, down 18% year on year. Such a serious decline in the output resulted from reduced supply of ethylene from Angarsk Polymers Plant.
JSC "Sayanskkhimplast" (Irkutsk region) was formed in 1998. manufactures and markets suspension polyvinylchloride, caustic soda, cable and footwear plasticized rubbers, corrugated pipes, wall panels, polyvinylchloride-based cable channels, and bleaching agent Belizna. After commissioning the production of PVC at RusVinyl (Nizhny Novgorod region), SayanskKhimPlast became the second largest producer of polyvinyl chloride in Russia. At present, the annual capacity of the plant is 300,000 tonnes of PVC. The company plans to increase production of PVC up to 700,000 tonnes/year.
